Dr Schlect is a Radiation Oncologist with clinical interests in neurological, brain and spine, lung, and skin cancers, sarcoma, benign conditions (including Dupytren's disease, keloid scars), and rare tumours.

Dr Schlect earned his Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery (MBBS) from the University of Queensland in 1979. He completed his residency at the Royal Brisbane Hospital before training as a radiation oncologist at St Vincent’s Hospital, Sydney, and furthering his expertise at the Royal Marsden Hospital, London. 

Throughout his career, David has contributed to the advancement of modern radiation therapy techniques. He is currently involved in the DEPART trial, which explores the use of radiation therapy in treating Dupuytren’s disease. He is a strong advocate for a multidisciplinary approach to patient care and actively participates in various medical and oncology organisations.

Dr Schlect is a Fellow of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Radiologists and a Senior Lecturer at the University of Queensland.

He has a long-standing and passionate interest in supporting cancer patients, offering personalised and modern treatment techniques.
