Dr Elizabeth Jarvis is a Renal Physician / Nephrologist, Obstetric Physician and General Physician who is passionate about her vocation and is proud to offer care for a wide range of patients through some of their most challenging life experiences.  Dr Jarvis graduated from the University of Sydney and completed her years of Nephrology and General Medicine training with a special interest in Obstetric Medicine at the Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital, Princess Alexandra Hospital and Mater Mothers’ Hospital. 

Having worked for nearly 10 years in the public and private sectors in both Nephrology and Obstetric Medicine, she is experienced in managing wide-ranging and complex medical problems and has had a long and active role in training of medical students and junior doctors.

Dr Jarvis has special interests not only in general aspects of kidney disease across all age groups including chronic kidney disease, dialysis and transplantation, but has particular interests in autoimmune disease in pregnancy and Obstetric Nephrology including dialysis and renal transplantation in pregnancy (along with management of immunosuppressive agents in pregnancy), all stages of chronic kidney disease in pregnancy, preeclampsia and hypertensive disorders of pregnancy. She also has experience in managing many other non-nephrology diseases in pregnancy particularly gestational diabetes, autoimmune and genetic illnesses in pregnancy. She also offers pre-pregnancy counselling and post-delivery care. The unique pregnancy medicine experience which many specialists do not have, means that Dr Jarvis can offer full lifetime care for her female patients. This makes Dr Jarvis the obvious choice for girls/young women as they transition from paediatric care.

Dr Jarvis ​consults in the Wesley Medical Centre and sees inpatients as required. She recently completed a Masters in Public Health and Tropical Medicine with Distinction and is a member of the Australian and New Zealand Society of Nephrology and Society of Obstetric Medicine of Australia and New Zealand.
