Dr Ian Martin

Dr Martin is a General, Bariatric and Upper GI Surgeon. His portfolio includes laparoscopic surgery for hernia, reflux, obesity and gallstones. He specialises in bariatric surgery.

Dr Martin received his Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery from the University of Queensland and is also a Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons.

Dr Martin was formerly a Consultant Senior Lecturer in the Department of Surgery at the Royal Infirmary Edinburgh, Scotland. Since 1998, he has been a Consultant Hepatobiliary, Pancreatic and Upper GI Surgeon at the Princess Alexandra and The Wesley Hospitals.

He has achieved the Surgeon of Excellence award for his work in Metabolic & Bariatric Surgery. His practice, including Brisbane Weight Loss Surgery, is located in the Sandford Jackson Building at the Wesley
