Salary packaging and retail benefits
Employees have access to salary packaging - up to $15,900 per year tax free as well as up to $2,650 of pre-tax income to pay for meal and entertainment benefits.
This benefit is available as UnitingCare Queensland is a non-for-profit organisation (endorsed public benevolent institutions and not-for-profit hospital), and receive a fringe benefit tax (FBT) exemption.

Parental leave
We offer 12 weeks paid parental leave and 2 weeks paid partner leave, available after 6 months, as we understand the importance of being with your family in the early months of your child’s life for both parents. This is in addition to the government’s paid leave scheme.
Inclusive leave
We offer paid gender affirmation leave and cultural leave (paid and unpaid) to celebrate Diwali, Ramadan, NAIDOC or other culturally significant events.
Flexible working arrangements
We understand that juggling work and personal lives can be a challenge, so if you need flexibility with your work hours, you may be able to make an arrangement that suits you and the Wesley. Purchasing additional leave
As a permanent employee, you may make a request to purchase an additional four weeks of annual leave each year for recreational purposes.

e-Library
As part of the UnitingCare family, The Wesley Hospital has access to a dedicated Librarian who undertakes information searches for staff to keep them informed in their area of clinical interest. Our E-library provides access to a large range of online databases to assist with research or to inform evidence-based practice at work. The self-service E-library is accessible from any computer on the UnitingCare Health network. The Librarian can perform online services and document delivery for Visiting Medical Practitioners, once approval has been gained.
Clinical education
Clinical education is offered at each UnitingCare hospital. Clinical educators support nursing staff in each department.
