JPs at the Wesley
Patients, visitors and staff at The Wesley Hospital will now have access to Justice of the Peace (JP) services without having to leave the premises.
The new JP stall will be located outside Wesley Medical Imaging from 10am-2pm every Wednesday.
Volunteer Services Manager Gary Pember said this was the first time the service would be based at the Wesley.
“This new community service gives patients and their loved ones the opportunity to see a JP onsite, when they otherwise would have had to leave the hospital,” Mr Pember said.
“It’s convenient for those patients who live remotely or have no ability to leave the site, and also for the public coming to visit their loved ones as they know there will be a JP available at the Wesley.”
Damien Mealey, Registrar and Manager, Justices of the Peace Branch (JP Branch), Department of Justice and Attorney-General, said the JP Branch was very pleased that this important community service would now be available at the Wesley Hospital as part of the JPs in the Community Program, and sincerely thanked the volunteer JPs and the hospital management for making this possible.
The new service will be launched on Wednesday, 28 September at 10am.
