Queensland Rail has advised that Auchenflower train station – the closest station to The Wesley Hospital – will be closed between 2am on Saturday, December 22, and 4am on Saturday, December 29.

The track closure is related to signal infrastructure upgrades that will affect the Ipswich/Springfield line between Roma Street and Darra stations. It will expand to include Bowen Hills and Albion, to Darra and Park Road on Christmas Day, Boxing Day and Saturday, December 29. 

Free timetabled bus services will replace trains through affected areas every 10 minutes during the morning and afternoon peak times and every 20 minutes in off-peak times. 

Special Christmas and New Year timetables will also be in place on Christmas and Boxing days as well as New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day across the entire network and Queensland Rail is encouraging people to plan ahead. The regular timetable will apply to all other days throughout the Christmas school holidays.
