Stay up-to-date when your loved one is in hospital
Imagine your daughter or your dad is having surgery at The Wesley Hospital and you are interstate for work, anxiously waiting to hear how it goes. Thanks to The Wesley’s new online Perioperative Patient Tracking system, you don’t need to rely on relatives, friends or hospital staff to keep you updated at an anxious time.
Perioperative Patient Tracking is an online portal that can be accessed from The Wesley website. By entering a unique patient case number, users can easily track someone’s progress through surgery – from anywhere.

Patient Administration Manager, Jessica Strong, said it’s a great initiative for Wesley families, at what can be a really stressful time.
“Previously, family or friends had to be at The Wesley, to be able to see our in-hospital tracking screens. Now they can see how a patient’s procedure is going, from admission to transfer to the ward to discharge; wherever they are. It also means the patient is less anxious knowing their family and friends are being kept informed about their progress.”
“Satisfaction is up across the board, feedback from patients and families is really positive, it’s truly making a difference,” Jessica said.
To maintain privacy within the electronic tracking board, patients are referred to by their case number, which will be provided to the patient upon admission. The patient can then distribute this case number to family and friends, at their discretion.
In addition to the online tracker, there are monitors in the waiting area at reception and in the Gown and Glove restaurant. The patient’s status will update and change colour as their procedure progresses. Our reception and admission staff are always available to answer any questions you may have.
