Email WebsiteDr Blair Bowden specialises in bariatric, upper gastrointestinal, hernia, gallstones and anti-reflux surgery. He is currently one of the very few American Society of Bariatric Surgery trained surgeons in Australia for weight loss surgery.
Dr Bowden is the principal surgeon at Queensland Bariatrics, which is a multidisciplinary clinic. The clinic also includes a bariatric GP, bariatric trained dietitians and psychologists.
After completing medical school at the University of Queensland, he completed his Fellowship training in advanced laparoscopic surgery at New York University Hospital, United States. He has now more than 20 years of experience as a bariatric surgeon.
Dr Bowden has been awarded the Surgeon of Excellence Award for his work in bariatric and metabolic surgery. He has performed more than 10,000 bariatric operations and more than 20,000 laparoscopic procedures.
