Dr Dickinson is an orthopaedic surgeon who has experience across a breadth of orthopaedic specialties including reconstructive surgery of the limbs, joint replacement, spine surgery and trauma.
His major clinical and research contribution was establishing the Bone and Soft Tissue Tumour Clinics at both Princess Alexandra Hospital and The Wesley Hospital. As well he established the Queensland Bone Tumour Registry.
He has had several senior leadership roles including as President of the Australian Orthopaedic Association and Vice President of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons. He took a particular interest in professional development and standards of both organisations. He has been Chair of the Princess Alexandra Hospital Orthopaedic Department, Chair of the Queensland branch of the Australian Orthopaedic Association and also was a founder of the Queensland Orthopaedic Research Trust.
He has been honoured to receive emeritus appointments at both Princess Alexandra & The Wesley Hospitals and has also been made a Member of the Order of Australia (AM).
He has a practice in the provision of expert orthopaedic opinion.
