If surgical intervention is required, you are in good hands with The Wesley Hospital’s specialist breast and endocrine surgical team. Surgical procedures include:
- Aesthetic breast surgery: Surgical techniques including breast augmentation, breast lift, or breast reduction.
- Breast conserving surgery: An operation to remove a tumour while leaving as much normal breast as possible. Otherwise known as a lumpectomy.
- Oncoplastic surgery: Surgery to remove breast cancer with the objective of improving cosmetic outcomes.
- Sentinel node biopsy: A procedure in which the sentinel lymph node is identified, removed, and examined to determine whether cancer cells are present.
