Prof Ian Bennett

Professor Ian Bennett is a Breast and Endocrine Surgeon with particular interests in the areas of breast disease, thyroid disease and parathyroid conditions. He has almost 25 years of clinical experience in these areas. He also has considerable experience in surgeon-performed ultrasound and surgeon-performed needle biopsy procedures and has utilised office ultrasound in his practice for the past 15 years. 
  
He also has an interest in familial breast cancer and has considerable experience in counselling high risk women in relation to recommended screening protocols and advice regarding prophylactic mastectomies.

Professor Bennett is an inaugural member of the Breast SurgANZ Society and the Endocrine Surgeon Section of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons. He is actively involved in medical student and registrar teaching and clinical research within the University of Queensland. He has a long association with The Wesley Hospital and The Wesley Breast Clinic and his private operating theatre sessions are conducted exclusively at The Wesley Hospital.
