Dr Kowsi Murugappan is an Australian-trained Breast and Endocrine Surgeon. She obtained her medical degree at Monash University in 2004 and then completed her General Surgical training at the Austin Hospital and Monash Health between 2006-2012. After completing three years of Breast and Endocrine fellowships, she accepted a staff specialist position at the Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital in 2016.
Dr Murugappan has continued to indulge her passion for clinical teaching and research in her role as Senior Lecturer with UQ. She is currently involved in clinical trials and research projects with a growing body of published research.
Over the years, Dr. Murugappan has proven to be a compassionate and dedicated Oncoplastic and Reconstructive Breast Surgeon providing high quality of care for women diagnosed with Breast cancer. She ensures that her patients understand their management options and thus feel empowered in their decisions. Dr. Murugappan values the personalised surgical care of patients with breast cancer in a multidisciplinary team environment.
Now expanding into private practice at the Wesley, Dr Murugappan values strong relationships and communication with her patients and their primary care physicians.
